A finite element study on modal analysis of lightweight pipes

Pipes are mainly used in waste, drain and vent systems as well transporting various liquids that might be corrosive, flammable, explosives, volatile, reactive, or sometimes hazardous to human health. Though pipes at the underground above ground, all of them exposed vibration because external factors. In this study, we focused on topology optimization steel PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) get lighter ones which will lead using less material during manufacturing, CO2 emission while usage areas by vehicles easier assembling process. Firstly, new lightweight pipe designs were modeled, then these novel with lattice wall thickness analyzed Ansys finite element program clamped-free, hinged-hinged, clamped-clamped boundary conditions obtain natural frequencies, mode shapes, displacement values. Moreover, obtained results for compared analytical calculated equation check compare results. Finite found similar an acceptable level. The show have frequency values commonly has fully solid some significant about attained. Lastly, effect behaviors was investigated depth.
